Risk Manager

Joe Gallagher is the Risk Manager for PARIC Holdings Group (PHG). In this position, Gallagher is directly involved in several risk management functions including corporate insurance program structure, project-specific insurance needs, joint venture insurance programs, subcontractor prequalification, and safety, among other focus areas. He led the effort to establish PHG’s captive insurance company (Lewis & Clark) in 2020 and continues to provide strategic direction and primary oversight for the company.

Prior to joining PHG in 2018, Gallagher served as Risk Manager for 15 years at Alberici Group, a self-performing general contractor and steel fabricator. Alberici expanded throughout the U.S. and Canada via multiple acquisitions during his tenure. Gallagher began his career at Kemper Insurance, serving in multiple risk control management positions for 14 years.

Actively involved in several industry organizations, he is a member of the national and regional AGC Chapters, serving on the local chapter’s Safety and Risk Management Committee for numerous years. Gallagher is also active in the St. Louis local chapter of RIMS and was appointed to XL Catlin’s inaugural Construction Customer Council, where he has served for 4 years including co-chair for 2 years. He is a past speaker at VCIA, IRMI, AGC and XL Catlin (now AXA XL) conferences and seminars. 

Gallagher earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa. He is a former President of the Gateway Chapter of the University of Iowa Alumni Association.
